||To set up
a real COE for advanced IT, it is crucial that our graduate school
curriculum offers students the related fundamental concepts. Regarding
various aspects of ITs such as software, hardware and the content
itself, we offer math-related basic theories and advanced application
technologies. We regard laboratory courses as important for developing
students' ability to handle practical information technology. One
course we have designed is "Experiencing Network Processors"
for learning network design, implementation, and evaluation in a hands-on
fashion, using the Intel development platform of the IXP 1200 network
processor. Through such activities, our COE program should become
a stronghold for advancing IT education.
